Do Typenex Barcode Blood Bands work with any Blood Bank Information
System?
- Typenex Barcode Blood Bands work with any 510(K) approved information system, as long as the barcode scanners can read GS1-128 linear barcodes. Many 2-D barcode readers can read linear barcodes in addition to 2-D, so please check with your scanner manufacturer.
Why does Typenex have various colors of blood bands?
- Typenex has many US customers who were required to change their blood band colors because of state by state "alert wristband" color standardizations to cut down on confusion among nurses at different facilities. Thus, each of Typenex's blood band solutions are offered in five different colors (red, green, yellow, blue and orange).
How many of each product are in a case?
- Original Bands (any color): 15 cartons of 10 bands each (150 total bands/case)
- Barcode Bands (any color, any version): 15 sleeves of 10 bands each (150 total bands/case)
- R3 Attachment System: 6 cartons of 10 bands (60 total bands/case)
- TypeSafe Segment Sampling Device: 2 bags of 500 units each (1,000 total units/case)
- FlexiBlood Forms (any type): 100 forms per pack
- FlexiBlood Bands (any color): 200 bands per box

We are ordering from Typenex for the first time, how do we place the order?
- All first-time orders must be placed with your sales representative by phone or email. We will then create an account and give an account number to reference for all future ordering.
Does Typenex have any GPO contracts?
- Yes, Typenex does have a contract position on certain group purchasing organization contracts. Please contact your sales representative for more information.

Is it possible to change my order after it has been placed?
- If your order has not yet been put into our system, you may be able to change it. However, if your order has already been put into our system, it is immediately transferred to the warehouse and is out of our hands. Contact our customer service center at 866-TYPENEX to inquire about your order.
Do you have a minimum order quantity?
- Typenex Medical LLC charges our customers a minimum order fee of $50 for any orders that are less than two (2) cases of product.
This minimum order fee is charged to help Typenex defray the cost of processing the order. Processing an order is a fixed cost for Typenex regardless of order size, and thus we need to charge this minimum order fee in order to service these small orders.
What if I need to return my Typenex product?
- Typenex does accept returns of unopened cases, and our return policy can be found here. If you need to return product, please contact your sales representative at 866-TYPENEX to obtain a return authorization number (RA#). Returns should be shipped to:

Once we receive the return back from you, our accounting department will issue a credit memo for the return less any restocking fees.
How do I provide product-specific feedback?

What is the relationship between Typenex and Baxter1?
- Typenex Medical, LLC and Baxter are independent companies. Typenex was purchased from Baxter in 2004 and all customers were transferred directly to Typenex. 1"Baxter" is a registered trademark of Baxter International Inc.
What if I need to return my Typenex product?

What if my order arrives damaged?
- If the damage is excessive, do not accept the shipment. Mark on the carrier's freight bill, "Shipment refused, damaged. Return to shipper." Please notify customer service immediately.
How do I provide product-specific feedback?
- Please email your feedback to customer service and they can direct you to the appropriate department. Be prepared to provide as much detail as you can, as well as a means to contact you for follow up.
